Matt Eldridge
MSW, RSW - Social Worker
About
Matt is a registered social worker, having completed his Master of Social Work degree in 2013. He has been in full-time private psychotherapy practice since 2020. Prior to entering the world of private practice, Matt worked at the Al and Malka Green Artists’ Health Centre, Credit Valley Hospital, OakMed Family Health Team, Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre, and Belleville General Hospital. Matt became a therapist because of his own personal struggles with depression and anxiety. He is able to offer a unique perspective of someone who has been both a patient, and a therapist. Matt’s approach to psychotherapy is eclectic. There is no “one-size fits all approach,” so the goal is to create a therapeutic experience that is tailored to each individual. Matt utilizes skills and tools from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems.
The strongest predictor of positive outcomes in therapy is the therapeutic relationship – the relationship between the client and therapist. Matt believes strongly in the importance of building strong and healthy relationships to support the therapeutic process.
