With over a decade of experience in individual and group therapy, Sakeena Myers-Halbig is dedicated to providing compassionate and trauma-informed care. She has worked in diverse settings, including hospital treatment programs, grassroots community agencies, and private practice clinics. Sakeena has also demonstrated leadership on community issues related to her clients’ needs, serving on coalitions, organizing awareness campaigns and events, and implementing and evaluating therapeutic interventions at the community level.
Sakeena specializes in helping individuals navigate grief, loss, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She takes a collaborative approach, empowering clients to explore their vulnerabilities and embrace personal growth. Her work also includes supporting clients in recovery from addictions and eating disorders, addressing concerns such as alcohol and substance use, body image, ARFID, binge eating, purging behaviors, and food avoidance.
Grounded in evidence-based therapies, Sakeena’s approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She is certified in these modalities through the University of Toronto, Oxford University, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
